Today's Crackpot Theory brought to you by the word 'null-ray'.

I think I've got a good theory as to why just about every Transformers fangirl, is also a Starscream fangirl. Here's Starscream in a nutshell:

* Arrogant
* Cowardly to a fault
* A complete jerk
* Has unrealistic expectations of becoming leader of the Decepticons
* Notorious for failing horribly.

Why would fangirls fall for such an character? Maybe they're in it for his looks, maybe they like the asshole type.

But I believe it's something more sinister.

I believe that Starscream came into possession of a device that allows him to influence the minds of fangirls. No, not complete mind control, but simply allows Starscream to weasel into their heads and plant the seeds for an unwavering loyalty to him.

Now I can tell you've got another question. "Why would he do such a thing?" And I've got the answer. Ever heard the phrase, "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups"? The same logic holds true for fangirls, as they can be utterly vicious and devious when defending an idea or favorite character.

Starscream knows this. With that device he is amassing an army of fangirls to help in his quest for leadership of the Decepticons. Where he failed, his own personal horde will succeed.

I can see a scenario now:
Starscream's had it with Megatron's leadership and he gives the signal, summoning his trump card. The fangirls swarm Megatron, completely covering him. He fights back valiantly but to no avail due to their sheer numbers. His muffled screams are no more as the fangirls dismember the fallen leader with their sharp nails, leaving Megatron a pile of scrap. Starscream's ambitious dream is fulfilled!

Unfortunately, due to my studies I was unable to escape the hivemind that had claimed so many others. Good day, and all hail Starscream!
